Jack Biddle – President

Prior to becoming President of the Boulder Chorale, Jack spent a year serving as Vice President/President Elect. This position consisted of “shadowing” President JoAn Segal while chairing two committees.

Jack graduated from the University of Washington in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He worked in information technology for 31 years specializing in project management and planning during the last six years.

Jeff Livesay – Vice President

Jeff Livesay, a bass in the Boulder Chorale, is this year's vice-president of the board. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and when he's not singing, he works in Boulder County as a job coach for disabled adults.

His hobbies include playing basketball and frisbee golf, long walks on the beach.... and singing!

This year, Jeff looks forward to assisting Jack in conducting the business of the board. Also, a project he will be working on is organizing an outreach ensemble to perform concerts in the community.

Dede Beardsley – Member At Large

Dede has sung with the Chorale since 1996. She’s cherished the music, laughs, friendships and her own growth in the Chorale, both musically and as part of the organization.

Dede has served on fund raising committees and run the Scrip program for years. Volunteering has deepened her commitment to the Chorale and allowed her to get to know many of you on a more personal level.

Other passions include her family, her Montessori school, golf, skiing bumps and power tools.

Risa Booze – Publicity/Marketing

During Risa’s first “tour” with the Boulder Chorale in the early 1990’s she was vice-president of the Board for two years. After a hiatus of nine years she returned the fall of 2004

In the position of Publicity and Marketing Chair she hopes to make the “Boulder Chorale” a household name and to increase audience participation so the singers look out on sea of smiling faces.

Christie Evenson – Graphics/Website

Christie is a soprano and has been singing with the Boulder Chorale since 1998. She has been in choirs since elementary school and can't imagine not having music in her life. Christie is a Software Engineer during the day and runs a Photo Enhancement business in her free time. With 2 young kids she's amazed she has any free time at all!

Joan Foutz – Member At Large

Since 1995 when I joined the Boulder Chorale, the vocal music ensembles have increased in number and excellence. In order to maintain our place as the premier singing group we need to work together to achieve consistent excellence in vocal performance. As a Board member I hope to facilitate that by encouraging and listening to individual Chorale members, so that we can all enjoy rewarding musical performances together.

Wren Fritzlan – Membership Liaison

Wren has been singing with the Boulder Chorale since 1992. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is Program Manager for Balsam House in Boulder. Wren grew up singing in church and school choirs. He also sang with the Bach Chorale in Glenwood Springs and Ars Nova Singers. He attended Mesa State College and Naropa University. He served on the Board 1996-2000 as president, secretary, and librarian.

Karen Haimes – Ticket Manager/Concert Dress Committee Chair

Karen has had the privilege of singing with the Boulder Chorale since 1995. In addition to her love of music, Karen feels lucky to have an exceptional husband, daughter and son, plus work she relishes, as a Boulder Community Hospital 55+ Wellness Clinic RN. Other interests include her book club of 15 years, biking, dancing, cooking, hiking, some volunteering for Intercambio de Comunidades, and, most especially, the challenges of learning anything new.

Jeff Hale – Treasurer

Jeff has been singing in the bass section of the Chorale since 2001. He has prior music experience from his years at Fairview High School where he was a tuba player in the marching band and a member of the Fairview choir. Jeff is currently a sales manager at McCaddon Cadillac Buick Pontiac GMC in Boulder. He is married to Julie (Alto/Graphics) and has three children and one granddaughter.

Julie Hale – Member At Large

Julie is a 2nd Alto and has been singing with the Boulder Chorale since 2001. She was born in Colorado, grew up in Boulder and is married to another Colorado Native, Jeff Hale (Bass/Treasurer). They have three grown children and an amazing little granddaughter. Julie is a graphic designer who loves to travel and ride her bicycle.

Greg Herring – Concert Manager Co-Chair

Greg has been an active member of the Boulder Chorale since 1999. In addition to high school and college choral experiences, Greg has sung in a number of church, community and small ensemble choirs. Greg is a project manager with IBM, working in their Strategic Outsourcing organization.

Miriam Lindahl – Concert Manager Co-Chair

Miriam Lindahl is one of those rare breeds-a true Colorado native. After 26 years of traveling the world with her Air Force husband, Tom, they retired to Boulder. Miriam is a Registered Nurse at Centura St. Anthony's North. She has been a member of the Chorale for 12 years-this is her fourth season as the Concert Manager.

Sam Richman – Music Librarian

Sam came to Boulder in 1990 and has been a bass in the Boulder Chorale since 2003. He has a Ph.D. in physics from CU and presently works in the R&D group at Research Electro-Optics, a local precision optics company. His formative organized musical experience was playing the trumpet in high school band and orchestra.

Outside of music, Sam enjoys reading, languages, backpacking, playing ultimate frisbee, and spending time with his wife and their two daughters.

JoAn Segal – Secretary/Past President

JoAn joined the Chorale in 1993 and has served in various board positions. A librarian, she also holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication and Theatre. She headed a western library networking agency and served as an executive of the American Library Association. Still active in library associations, she volunteers at the American Music Research Center and reads poetry at a senior residence. JoAn’s small business, Vintage Ventures, provides library services to law firms in the Boulder area.

Binx Selby – Volunteer Coordinator

Binx Selby is the inventor and founder of a dozen high technology start-ups in Boulder. He also co-founded a Montessori public charter school on the Mexican border in Arizona. He now spends him time bicycling, meditating, chauffeuring his daughter, and working on his latest invention.
