2012 - 2013 Board of Directors
Brad Walters - President
Brad grew up on the East Coast and has a BA in English from Colgate University. He and his wife, Jeanette, have been married since 1984, and have two children. Brad runs a woodworking business, making custom furniture and cabinet work as well as a line of Navajo-style tapestry looms and tools. He also invests in and manages real estate, including some rehab work.
He enjoys reading, as well as outdoor activities, especially biking, cross-country skiing, and hiking. He joined the Boulder Chorale in 1992, and loves his involvement with the music and the community of singers.

Sam Richman - Past President
Sam came to Boulder in 1990 and has been a bass in the Boulder Chorale since 2003. He has a Ph.D. in physics from CU and after 12 years of doing R&D in the optics industry, he is now a science teacher at Centaurus High School in Lafayette. His formative organized musical experience was playing the trumpet in high school band and orchestra. Outside of music, Sam enjoys reading, languages, backpacking, golf, and spending time with his wife and their two daughters.

Karon Kelly - Vice-President
Karon has lived in Boulder since 1976 and is currently employed at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) where she has managed libraries, digital repositories, and science education programs in support of scientific research and education. She has pursued her interest in the arts through volunteer work with visual and performing arts organizations, supporting their efforts in strategic planning and sustainability.

Roselyn Strommen - Secretary/Music Librarian
Roselyn began singing with the Boulder Chorale in 2009. She is an attorney and has been in private practice in Longmont since she and her husband, Kevin Berg, moved to Colorado in 1984. Roselyn received her J.D. from the University of Iowa and a B.F.A. from North Dakota State University. Music has always been an important part of her life, giving it more vibrancy and spurring creativity.

Elaine Schnabel - Treasurer
Elaine joined the Board of Directors in the 2010-2011 season. She has experience in the business and medical community. Elaine has been the Chorale Treasurer since 2010.

Inger Barron - CD Sales
Inger Barron has been a member of the Boulder Chorale since 2009. After singing in high school choirs, she went to a Folk High School in Norway for a year where she studied music and sang in various school and community choirs. Her first experience with the Boulder Chorale was to sing Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Macky Auditorium sometime back in the 80s. Inger is an Administrative Assistant at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. She and her husband enjoy traveling, hiking, and skiing. Her son is a scooter technician here in Boulder.

Karen Bell—Member at Large
Karen Bell is an Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist for Dialysis Services at the University of Colorado Hospital. She has sung with the Boulder Chorale for over 20 years and counts the Italy tour as a life highpoint. In addition to singing and nephrology nursing, she enjoys hiking, photography, travel and cooking. She lives with her husband of 38 years, Bill, one willful and one elderly lab mix, and frequents the East coast where her adult children now reside.

Amy Evans - Boulder Children’s Chorale Representative
Amy is a recent Boulderite, having moved from Los Angeles in August 2010. After discovering the Boulder Children's Chorale, her son, Quinn, eagerly enrolled. Amy hopes to bring a sense of community to the parent body and families in the Children's Chorale. Amy's background in music includes two Emmy Awards in Music Direction and Composition, which she won while working 20+ years on Days of our Lives. She has a degree from UCLA in music composition, and she looks forward to the Bruins coming to Boulder to take on the Buffs. She delights in her family - a husband and two wonderful boys.

Jeannette Hillery - Member at Large

Jeannette Hillery moved to Boulder in 1993 and joined the Boulder Chorale that year and has sung every season since. She has an MSW from Fordham University and is very active in the League of Women Voters, dealing with natural resource and water issues. She enjoys all music and the comradery of the Chorale. Other activities include her horse, Dan, golf, reading and some travel.

Doug Kerry - Concert Management Co-chair/Information Technology Committee Chair
Doug moved to the Boulder area in 1983. He has been a Bass II in Boulder Chorale since January, 2011. He has degrees in Biology and Microbiology, but extensive experience in data telecommunications---go figure. Doug has enjoyed music all his life, a member of concert choirs in junior high, high school, and college. Singing and accompanying himself on acoustic guitar are among his favorite activities. Other pursuits are ballroom dancing, climbing 14’ers, mountain biking, and trying to keep up with computer technology. Doug is married to Deb Usrey, a professor at Regis University. His children are Megan, 21, who just graduated from CU in psychology and Connor, 16, who goes to Fairview HS. Doug and Deb love to travel, camp, cross-country ski, and hike together.

Inge Moorby - Tickets Committee
Inge was born in Germany and before settling in Boulder, she lived in England, France, Switzerland and Belgium. She has been involved in various healing modalities and since 1992 has been running InnerMotion, a Pilates-based healing studio in North Boulder. Inge has been singing with the Boulder Chorale for 12 years.

Sharman Wilson - Social Chair
Originally from Woodbridge, Connecticut, Sharman graduated with a B.S. in Agronomy & Horticulture from Brigham Young University. She has been employed by the Boulder Schools for 20 years, first at Louisville Middle School working in gifted and talented, special education, and library, and now as a middle-school substitute teacher. She and her husband Brent Wilson have four children and four grandchildren, including little Natalia living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Sharman has been an active volunteer in the schools, community, and church, with singing being one of her favorite ways to give. She has sung in church choirs since she was sixteen years old, and in community choirs for most of her adult life.
