The Boulder Chorale has a rich history rooted in the Boulder community. In 1966, a group of local musicians came together to provide choral music for productions of the Boulder Civic Opera. The chorus members so enjoyed singing together that they decided to perform their own concerts. Forty years later, the Boulder Chorale has developed into an organization supporting three choruses, an active board of directors, a professional artistic and administrative staff, and a roster of well over 100 active members. At the heart of the Chorale remains the same joy of singing and love for the choral art that inspired our first members over four decades ago.
Our 42nd season offers something for everyone. From early music to the infectious rhythms of Zimbabwean marimba; from Mozart to Mahler—our concerts will send your spirits soaring. Speaking of Mahler, we are delighted to have been invited to appear with Colorado MahlerFest this season in performance of Das klagende Lied—Mahler’s early and rarely-heard masterpiece. The members of the Concert Chorale invite you to join us for this special event in January as we sing under the baton of MahlerFest founder and music director Robert Olson.
I invite you to explore these pages to learn more about the Chorale, and to
consider joining us as a singer, concertgoer or donor. Your support is essential to
our success, and we thank you.
